The Google AdSense program works with the content of your website, webpage or blogg. It matches an advertiser to your specific page content. Those who use Google’s AdWords are trying to drive prospective customers to their site by setting an advertising budget and targeting a specific key word. Example: (red tennis shoes)
An example would be if you wrote a review site or blogg on leather shoes and signed up for a Google AdSense account for content you would copy and paste some code on your page then Google puts ads on your page you can chose text ads, banner ad or both. If you look around different sites you will see more text ads actually because studies have been done and text ads are processed faster by the brain then banner ads ( It’s called banner blindness ) and most people have come to ignore banners while surfing the internet.
The interesting thing is the advertisers don’t pay for the exposure unless someone clicks the ad this is called Pay per click PPC for short. There is also AdSense referrals which you get paid when someone clicks and ad and performs a task that is specified by the advertiser and AdSense for search if you put a Google search on you site and someone clicks one of the sponsored ads you get paid.
Lets say an advertiser pays $1.00 or so per click through AdWords then Google pays you a percentage of that amount. Google doesn’t disclose what an advertiser paid so let’s say your commission is 0.20 per click. I know it doesn’t sound like much and depending on how high your content is worth it could be much lower or higher but if you get thousands of visitors a month and 2 - 5 % click rate an ad that’s about $50.00 a month or more. The more visitors the more clicks for just adding the code that’s not so bad considering you don’t have to talk to advertisers or customers send emails. Once you have added the code you’re done and when your account reaches a 100.00 Google will send you a check.

First you have to specify a website or web blog and wait for approval make sure your site is validated through the WC3 has plenty of content and is SEO friendly.
After you are approved you can log into your account and click AdSense for content now you can configure how you want the ad to be displayed. The next step is to pick what type of ad you want displayed you can pick text ads or banner or both. I prefer texts ads that blend into the page.
Now you can choose how the ads are displayed you can choose full banner, half banner or even link ads the page shows you how it will look you also pick background color link color and boarder color you can change at any time and experiment to see what works best.
By default if there are no relevant adds to display Google will display Public service ads You can also set up channels for example the home page half banner so you can see how each ad is doing.
Once you have set up the style and colors you will now have the script to copy and paste on your page.
